Project Manager

To ensure that technical aspects of the project(s) are as per the initial concept and quality standards. To manage the development of the project(s) from time, cost and quality viewpoint, aiming to complete the project(s) efficiently and within budget.

*KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Project Management:
Manage, direct and co-ordinate all project's activities through out all phases (design, tendering, construction, hand over, free maintenance period) with responsibility for delivering the project in compliance with all contractual requirements, ensuring that resource usage is optimised to achieve, or exceed, projected profit margins.

Contract Management:
Review contract/tendering documentation, to ensure a thorough understanding of the contract requirements, participating and/or directing the preliminary planning stages as necessary.

Project Resourcing:
Establish the resourcing requirements for respective project segments to ensure that these are accurate and realistic and that any necessary steps needed to supply resources have been arranged.

Consultants / Contractors selection:
Contribute to the process of selection of consultants and architects by providing inputs on their past performance to the purchasing department and the UP tenders and suppliers committee.

Project Supervision:
Provides adequate resources and expertise on site to ensure the effective supervision, monitoring and control of the work being undertaken to ensure full compliance with all relevant standards and policy and procedures.

Instruction Manuals and guides
Prepare instruction manuals and guides for easy reference by personnel and to ensure clarity on every step of the Project Management process.

People development:
Guide, motivate and develop subordinates to work together as a team and display high levels of performance.

Cost Control:
Monitor the financial performance of the Project against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Policies and procedures:
Participate in the development and oversee the implementation of operational policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Project Management activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality data.

Safety, Quality & Environment:
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of project Management activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
• FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

-The Project Head/Manager reports to Real Estate Project Management Director and confers with the latter on key issues affecting the Project Management process from time, cost and quality viewpoint, aiming to complete the project(s) efficiently and within budget.

-The jobholder is expected to draw the department's plans and budgets for approval by the Real Estate Project Management Director.

-Key decisions affecting the direction and operation of the Project Management function must be referred to the Real Estate Project Management Director for ratification before they can be implemented.

-Exercise financial authorities at the level established by Management for this position

Requirements:
1-Engineering University Degree - Postgraduate Degree, Chartered Engineer (CEng)
2-10+ years experience in related area
