The country of Qatar is currently experiencing an economic boom in economy and industry and has placed an emphasis on a major drive toward the development of infrastructure services and construction of projects on a national scale. Our client, the leading government agency for infrastructure development and project management, is growing their specialist teams and now look to appoint a Railway Alignment Engineer for their rail projects within their design team of their Road Design Department.

Reporting to the Head of Roads Design, this role is a specialist design role in railway alignment for major government rail projects for Qatar. This is an Advisor's role.

The duties of this role include the following:
• Proven ability in the supervision and management of a team with regards to design and review of railway alignment and road / highways projects throughout all concept, preliminary and detail design stages.
• Ability to collect, analyse and validate relevant rail design data and the ability to formulate relevant reports specification and quantity estimates.
• Capability to review design drawings, reports documents, provide technical guidance and support where required and maintain quality standards as appropriate

Requirements:
The attributes we seek include:
• A Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Civil) or comparable is required with a Masters Engineering degree from an internationally recognized institution being highly regarded.
• A minimum of 15 years transport design experience in rail or road with at least 5 years experience in railway alignment.
• A track record of delivery within the public sector for both Local and the Highways Agencies will be considered particularly advantageous.
