To provide technical expertise of Static Equipment Engineering support through all phases of major and minor projects.

BACKGROUND
Sr. Static Equipment Engineer reports to Principal Mechanical Engineer
Participates during all phases of engineering development, design and commissioning of projects to ensure effective implementation of the Company policies and strategies on various aspects of engineering design and development of static equipment / packages for all major and minor Projects being executed by the Projects Group. Static equipment / packages includes but not limited to pressure vessel, column, reactor, vessel internals, tanks, spheres, shell and tube heat exchanger, air cooler, filter, boiler, fired heater, flare system, dosing package, chemical injection package, air dryers, etc.

Provides specialist services to ensure that Company specifications and practices are up to date and state-of-art technology is applied in design and development of all static equipment / packages.
Works in very close co-operation with Mechanical Engineering Department Head and maintain close co-ordination at appropriate level with Projects Execution, QA/QC Procurement & Control Departments of Projects group and Plant Operations, Pipeline Operations, Technical Services, sister Companies and outside specialist organizations and contractors.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To supervise mechanical engineering design for stationary equipment/packages and development for projects associated with gas production/treatment and transportation. Develop statement of requirements for new projects. Provide troubleshooting guidance to operating companies, as required.
• To develop and write statement of requirements for new projects in collaboration with operators and ensure its co-ordination with operator/sponsor.
• To develop the scope of work for consultants and/or engineering contractors.
• To develop the Company specifications, standards and guidelines for use in-house or by the contractors with regard to projects undertaken.
• To supervise the design works of consultants/engineering contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the scope of work. Review/approve drawings, specifications and other technical documents for all types of projects incorporating the comments and requirements of the operating entity.
• To audit and manage the work of project management consultant’s specialist and ensure that quality and standards are maintained and cost effective solutions are adopted.
• To review bidders lists, bid documents for contract/purchase of equipment such as vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, air dryers, flare system, etc. Participate in evaluation of tenders/bids/enquiries and approve selection of equipment/packages.
• To design in-house engineered works including drawing, specifications/data sheets and bills of quantities.
• To audit installations during construction, witness pre-commissioning and commissioning of equipment and ensure that the installation and the equipment are in accordance with specifications for critical equipment.
• To ensure cost-effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the duration of the projects.
• To ensure that state-of-art technology is applied in the selection of equipment/packages.
MAIN CHALLENGES
• To ensure effective implementation of Company policies and the strategies on various aspects of engineering design and development work taking into consideration the scope of work that covers all static equipment/packages for all major and minor Projects being executed by the Projects Group.
• Provides specialist services to ensure that a state-of-art technology is applied in engineering design and development jobs for process equipment at the project stage in view of different nature of each project.
• To ensure that the Consultants / Engineering Contractors designs are in accordance with the Scope of Work and facilities delivered to end-users are safe, reliable, operable & maintainable.

• PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work involves walking and standing up to 20% of the work time during Site visits, and exposure to computer screen about 80% of work time. • WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normally A/C environment, with occasional exposure to plant and outside conditions for 15-20% of work time.
